Composer and electronic musician, João Damas’s music is based on simple rhythms and a counterpoint of short melodies, over quiet ambient textures, creating focus driven electronic dance music.
From the very birth of classical minimalism, to the pastures of post-rock and dream pop, João’s music seems to fit in the genre explorers’ academy.
He works exclusively with analogue synthesisers, paired with a myriad of digital signal processors to further shape his sound.
In the studio, he privileges a “live on tape” approach, seeking unedited takes with a less than clean sound.
